Architecture

PREMFIRE is based on three-level architecture, adapted to the different stakeholders and profiles involved in fire-fighting. This architecture perfectly adapts to processes, roles and activities to be execute, through very user-friendly interfaces.

Structure

PREMFIRE CC

Installed at National or Regional Operation Centres, PREMFIRE CC is the Command and Control Tool, with which operators manage and register all information:

  • Alert management,
  • Management of multiple occurrences at the same time,
  • Registration of information about the fire characteristics and communication through sketches with the Brigades in the Theatre of Operations.
  • Real-time tracking of resources and visualization in a cartographic 3D environment.
  • Printable reports showing the history and status of any occurrence.

PREMFIRE Mobile

Installed in a Mobile device, such as a Rugged Tablet PC, PREMFIRE Mobile is the Fire and Brigade Chiefs support tool. It also allows real-time tracking and visualization of allocated and deployed resources in a 3D environment. It supports Fire Chiefs in taking decisions about reallocating resources; moreover, the user can draw sketches over maps and interchange them with PREMFIRE CC, so as to coordinate strategic actions.

PREMFIRE Mobile is also an information gathering tool. It allows geographic information to be update before or after the event, such as acquisition of important information for fire fighting decisions, damages or process improvement.

PREMFIRE Position

It consists on a portable GNSS (GPS, EGNOS, etc.) receiver, coupled to fire-fighters and/or vehicles, that updates its location every few seconds, in order to provide the most accurate position possible. This information is sent to PREMFIRE CC and PREMFIRE Mobile through a reliable communication channel, such as GPRS, TETRA or SatCom.

IP-Based Communications

Besides standard LAN communications inside the Command & Control centre, a gateway manages the bridge between the LAN network and the Internet and wireless networks.

PREMFIRE Mobile field devices use any IP-based wireless link while accessing the central repository on the Theatre of Operations, such as GPRS, SatCOM, TETRA of HF Radio, depending on commercially available hardware. This allows communication solutions to be adapted according to budget restrictions and National operational requirements, maximizing the return on investment.
